Founded in 1920 Cuba, The Floridita Hotel. Hemingway spent a lot of time in Havana, Cuba, moving in 1938 from Key West. One of his favorite spots to do so was La Florida Bar, or El Floridita Today, the bar’s slogan printed on its sign, is “la cuna del daiquiri”, the cradle of the daiquiri.

The Aviation cocktail is a drink that has been around since, the early twentieth century. Its original recipe, according to Hugo Ensslin’s Recipes for Mixed Drinks (1916), called for gin, maraschino liqueur, crème de Violette, and lemon juice. This classic cocktail experienced ups and downs in popularity, but never fully disappeared from the bartending scene.
