2019 Find Out What’s Coming to Walt Disney World® Resort

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

There’s no need to travel to a galaxy far, far away when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is right here in Orlando. Offering an authentic and fully immersive galactic experience, those who enter Galaxy’s Edge will quickly forget all about Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Orlando, about Earth, for that matter.

Galaxy’s Edge is an all-new, 14-acre theme park at Walt Disney World® Resort, complete with everything you need to live out your wildest dreams of adventures in hyperspace.

You can take the Millennium Falcon out for a spin, try that blue and green milk Luke Skywalker drinks, join the Resistance, build your own lightsaber, and get Jedi powers!

Watch Out for Stormtroopers

They’re known to patrol Black Spire Outpost in search of any locals or travelers who sympathize with the Resistance. You could be interrogated by a band of First Order Stormtroopers, or you may spot Chewbacca rounding up new recruits for the Resistance.

Best decide on which side your allegiance lies.

Explore Batuu and Black Spire Outpost

In case you’re unfamiliar with the locale, Black Spire Outpost is a bustling village on the planet of Batuu. Situated on the outskirts of civilization, at the frontier of Wild Space, Black Spire is where the smugglers, rogues, and nefarious traders make a living and enjoy a reprieve from the oppressions of the First Order. Travelers come to peruse the stalls, to buy rare and unusual artifacts, to indulge in galactic cuisine, and to visit one of the most infamous watering holes in the galaxy.

Walt Disney World® Resort

Along with the buses, boats, monorails, and Mini Vans, transportation options at Walt Disney World® Resort will soon include gondolas. Starting this fall, you can enjoy scenic views while traveling high above the treetops aboard the Disney Skyliner.

Disney Skyliner: A Nod to the Days of Yore

Skyway was a slow-moving, cable-car-like attraction that operated at the Magic Kingdom Park, between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, during the 70’s through 90’s. Now, almost 20 years later, the gondolas are back and better than ever.

The new Disney Skyliner is a modern, high-tech version of Skyway. Initially, the route will feature six Skyliner stations, most notably at Epcot® and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Epcot® World Showcase Lagoon

After a dazzling 20-year run, “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth,” takes a final bow on September 30, making way for “Epcot® Forever” at World Showcase Lagoon on October 1.

Taking you on a trip down memory lane, through the past, present, and future, the show features a collection of songs that depict a colorful picture of Epcot’s journey throughout the years. This all-new nighttime extravaganza includes fireworks, music, lighting, lasers, and choreographed special effects.

Disney Springs

Channel your inner superstar at this all-new destination at Disney Springs. Packed with interactive settings and hand-on activities across a 44,000 square feet attraction, NBA Experience is the stuff basketball dreams are made of.

Walk through the players’ tunnel and enter the court at an NBA arena where you test your shooting skills, take the slam dunk challenge, and see how you measure up to your favorite stars. Choose from a variety of activities that can be personalized with your name and track your stats just like in a real pro game.
