Luis Taborda, Chef de Cuisine

Chef Taborda’s life has always been centered around the kitchen. Born and raised in Colombia and one of 12 children, Chef Taborda nurtured his passion for cooking while preparing daily meals with his entire family. He spent many hours with his mother and grandmother making memories around the family table.


Before joining Caribe Royale, Chef Taborda attended the Cena Culinary Academy. Following his education, Chef Taborda completed his culinary internship at the Seaside Grill in Boston, Massachusetts. He has worked for Trattoria Il Panino Italian restaurant and he also spent five years at Morton’s Prime Steakhouse in Boston where he received a great education in classic American steakhouses.


Chef Taborda began his career at Caribe Royale as Assistant Sous Chef. After serving in this role for five years, he was promoted to Chef de Cuisine at The Venetian Room. Under his leadership The Venetian Room garnered the AAA Four- Diamond award for its 9th and 10th years. He now leads The Venetian Chop House, an upscale steakhouse where guests can enjoy contemporary, artfully prepared dishes, featuring signature cuts of steaks and chops. Together with Executive Chef Vincent Posado, Chef Luis was instrumental in transitioning The Venetian Room to The Venetian Chop House.
