When The Venetian Room opened in 2002, Chef Khalid Benghallem knew it was his destiny to create unique, signature flavors in what would become Orlando’s best fine dining restaurant. As a two-time top chef of Central Florida and an inductee of Orlando Magazine’s Dining Hall of Fame, we’re quite happy with what destiny has arranged for us.Speaking English, French, Spanish and Arabic, Khalid began his culinary education in 1989 at L’Ecole Hôtelière de Rabat and graduated in 1992. He then sliced and diced his way through culinary externships at several hotels and restaurants, including Au Palmier de Lorette in Paris and La Mamounia in Marrakesh, Morocco. Seasoned with global culinary knowledge, Khalid’s previous experiences in America, Europe and North Africa have led him to The Venetian Room at Caribe Royale. Under his leadership, the elegant restaurant has received an unprecedented collection of honors and recognitions, including the AAA Four Diamond Award in each of the past eight years.
